In collaboration with veterinary services, the Council is organizing mass dog rabies vaccination clinics aimed at increasing immunity within the canine population and reducing transmission risks.
Enforcement of Pet Registration
The Council is reinforcing dog registration in line with the Dog Control Act to promote responsible pet ownership and maintain accurate records within the district.
Vaccinate Your Pets: Ensure all dogs and cats are vaccinated against rabies.
Report Animal Bites: Seek immediate medical attention and report any animal bite to the nearest health facility.
Avoid Stray Animals: Do not approach or handle stray or unknown animals; report them to village heads or local authorities.
Educate Others: Share rabies prevention information with family members, neighbours, and the wider community.
By working together, we can prevent the spread of rabies in Kasenengwa District and protect both human and animal health.
