Ms. Falesi Soko

Kasenengwa Council Chairperson

Ms. Falesi Soko is the Council Chairperson for Kasenengwa Town Council. She is a retired education professional who entered public service through local governance, having joined politics in 2016 and previously served as a councillor before being elected to lead the Council. As Chairperson, she provides political and civic leadership to the local authority, represents the interests of the people of Kasenengwa, and champions inclusive development, accountability, and improved service delivery across the district.

In her role as Council Chairperson, Ms. Soko works closely with the elected councillors and the Council’s management to guide the district’s development agenda. Her core responsibilities include presiding over Council meetings, providing direction on policy and local priorities, and ensuring that Council decisions and resolutions are implemented for the benefit of residents. She also performs civic and ceremonial duties on behalf of the Council and promotes public engagement and participation in local governance so that communities are involved in shaping development in their wards.

Working together with councillors, the Chairperson helps coordinate ward-level issues, supports committees of the Council, and strengthens collaboration with traditional leadership and cooperating partners. Through this collective leadership, Kasenengwa Town Council is able to plan, approve, and monitor local programmes and projects, ensuring that resources are used transparently and that development priorities reflect the needs of the people.
