The Finance Department is responsible for managing all financial aspects of the council including budgeting, accounting, revenue collection, and financial reporting. The department ensures proper financial management and accountability of public funds in accordance with financial regulations and best practices.
The department prepares annual budgets, maintains accounting records, collects revenue, processes payments, manages payroll, and provides financial reports to support decision-making. It also oversees stores management and ensures compliance with financial regulations.
Responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, preparing financial statements, processing payments, managing payroll, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards and regulations.
Handles the collection of all municipal revenues including property rates, service charges, business licenses, and other fees. Maintains revenue records and implements strategies to improve revenue collection.
Manages council inventory including receiving, storing, and issuing goods. Maintains proper records of stock movements and conducts regular stock takes to ensure accurate inventory records.
