4th January,2025 Kasenengwa District Commissioner Ms Racheal Phiri has applauded kasenengwa Town Council management for it’s transparency in the implementation of the Cash for Work program in the district. She stated that the frequent monitoring programs of the works being conducted under the Cash for work across the district have assisted the Council ensure that the program guidelines such as scope of works, quality of work, selection criteria are adhered to.
Ms Phiri added that the Government is in a hurry to deliver development and alleviate the impact of the drought which the country experienced in the past farming season by initiating programs such as Cash for Work and is pleased that the Local Authority is paying beneficiaries promptly which empowers them to purchase food items for their households.
Meanwhile, Kasenengwa Town Council Secretary Mrs Caroline Mphande revealed in her report that the Local Authority has paid K7,412,400 to 12,354 beneficiaries between September 2024 to December 2025. Mrs Mphande further stated that 10,010 beneficiaries have been engaged for the Month of January, 2025.
This was revealed during the District Development Coordinating Committee (DDCC) meeting which was held on 9th January, 2025 at Kasenengwa town Council.
